Here’s the second in our quick tips series about getting into advertising.
Get to understand the business and what it represents. Understand the different roles that people have and the requirements of those roles e.g. Media requires a different mind-set to Account Management, but is close to Research. Be honest with yourself about your own personality - can you take front-line stress of Client presentations? Are you happier in more detail oriented work or the big picture?
The Agency business offers many different routes for different personalities. Offer agencies what you feel you can bring to a job. Make yourself easy to employ - understanding yourself first will make that a whole lot easier for prospective employers.
