Some quick questions about wurk - and some even quicker answers.

What is wurk?

wurk is the freshest career resource on the net. Instead of simply advertising vacancies like the thousands of job sites out there, wurk tells you how to get the job, and what it’s like to actually do the job. Put simply, wurk is a growing network of blogs that cover job hunting, career advice and working life - and if there’s not a blog for your industry yet, don’t worry. You can rest assured that there will be one soon.

What’s a blog?

“A weblog (now more commonly known as a blog) is a web-based publication consisting primarily of periodic articles (normally in reverse chronological order).” Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog. You can read the 12-inch version of that answer by clicking the link, however, it sometimes helps to think of blogs as being similar to online magazines.

Who writes the wurk.net blogs?

The wurk team of writers consists of professionals with years of experience in their particular industry sector and seasoned jobhunters who know the tips, the tricks, the ins, and the outs of searching for that perfect career move.

Is wurk aimed at UK or US based jobhunters?

Neither. And both. Confused? Don’t be. wurk is global, which means we cover stories about working life in all countries. When it comes to careers, most advice works wherever in the world you are, and even in the rare cases that it doesn’t, reading about someone doing the same job as you on the other side of the world couldn’t be more intriguing!

Can I contribute?

Yep, certainly. If you’re the kind of person who loves to share advice, who can turn their hand to research, and who has a well-developed writing style, you can join us as a writer.

I have a really, really obscure question to ask that isn’t covered here.

Hmmm… better email us at info@wurk.net, then.
