Some really good stuff happening at wurk.net over the last week or so.
At healthcare.wurk.net, Hsien asks whether healthcare workers should take sick leave in light of the bird flu pandemic, and investigates the measures that workplaces should take if the pandemic affects their staff. Hsien’s also got an interesting piece about a school that helps its kids begin their healthcare careers in high school and a lot more. Seriously, if you’re working in healthcare, or want to get into the sector, healthcare.wurk.net is a definite must-read.
At food.wurk.net, Kenny offers some quick views of bartending and waiting careers that can help you decide whether you’re the right person for the job. It promises to be a great series of entries - well worth reading if you’re thinking about getting stuck into the food sector.
At ad.wurk.net, Anton kicks off a debate about stereotypes in advertising (if you work in advertising, go check it out and leave a comment), and also offers some essential advice if you’ve got the graduate blues.
Jack at it.wurk.net offers some fantastic ‘how to’ tips if you’re about to ask for a payrise, and slots in some useful ‘what NOT to do’ tips, as well. Great points - and straight from an experienced IT recruiter, too.
At education.wurk.net, BrianW finds out what Lifelong Learning really means to people working in education, and looks at the impact that computers in schools have had on teachers. Any teachers reading this? Go check education.wurk.net out now and have your say.
And at blogging.wurk.net, we’ve taken a look at the pros and cons of joining a blogging network (at wurk.net it’s ALL pros ;o) ), and we’ve discovered that new political blogging outfit/collective/aggregator/?, OSM Media have actually been watching The Office a little too much.
‘Nuff said. And more next week!
