babystesp031406.jpg For the past few months, I’ve been walking every day on the days I work at home, which is about 4 days a week. Like most people, while I feel better after I’ve made myself exercise, it’s very difficult to motivate myself to do it on a regular basis. Plus, since I was out of shape, it was physically difficult as well.

During today’s walk, it occurred to me that getting into a regular exercise routine is very similar to starting a home based business: it takes baby steps.

Months ago when I began walking, I only managed to walk about 10 minutes. It was hard to get started too because I thought, well, 10 minutes isn’t very much. Was it even worth the effort?

However, after a few weeks, I started walking 15 minutes each time, then 20 minutes, and now I’m up to 30 and sometimes even 40 if I have the time and energy.

Anything that is difficult to accomplish doesn’t happen overnight. While it may feel like you are taking baby steps at first and you wonder if it is even worth your time, even with baby steps you can make progress towards reaching your goal of working from home.
